A segmentation neural network (U²-Net) finds the main subject of the image and computes a cut-out mask, which is then applied at your photo's full resolution. The model is downloaded once (about 5 MB), then everything runs on your device: your photos never leave your browser. Best results come with a sharp subject that stands out from the background.
